A lot better than the bourbon barrel aged version. Pours amber without much head or lacing. Lots of caramelize malt and light booze. Sweet finish. Tap at brewpub.

Bottle - Sweet and lots of real pear notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet light malts with some pear and a touch of apple. Kind of like Perry meets beer. Surprisingly not bad.

Draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver
Dark Amber color with cream head. Milder aroma, stronger flavor, this beer has a potent herbal character, minty, and ends with pithy bitterness.
Vile beer.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Nose is bizarre, with notes of syrup, diacetyl and slight resinous hops. Flavour is messed up, with tart woody notes, cough syrup and some resin. Either this is seriously messed up or they've got a shit recipe. Either way, this is crap - undrinkable stuff.

Bottle from Liquor Barn, Vancouver
Brown color, the head is not persistent. Mild aroma of caramel, oak and bourbon. Medium body strength, a bit thin; the malt takes a liquorice turn; some bourbon soaked oak chip into it doesn’t turn the experience inside out; low bitterness.
Not a bad beer, I wouldn’t drink a full glass of it.

Bottle. Light brownish-amber. Aroma is appley, and it’s just really not appetizing. There’s some sweet toffee, and a dash of bourbony vanilla in the finish. Thin body, and just nothing in the finish.
