On cask at GCBF 2016, pours a cloudy peachy colour with a small white head. Aroma brings out tons of fruity esters, saison yeast, and some banana. Flavour is dryer, but still has plenty of fruity esters, with dry pithy berries and light yeast. Not a whole lot going on here. Yeasty and dirty. Not too good.

On tap at GCBF 2016, pours a cloudy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is subdued, with a very woody quality. Flavour confirms this - lots of woodiness, subdued bready notes, no sweetness whatsoever. Strange. I wonder if this was as intended. Not bad but not very good.

On tap at GCBF 2016, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly subdued on the spruce, with biscuity malt and only light earthy woodiness. Flavour is not very spruce-heavy and much fruitier instead, with some dry berries, biscuity malt and light spruce. Berries on the finish with little residual sweetness. Not sure what the point of this is; it's okay.

On tap at GCBF 2016, pours a hazy yellowy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out considerable smoke and lightly sweet cereal malt. Flavour is more or less dominated by the smoke, with a nice campfire quality to it, followed by lightly sweet cereal malt. The smoke makes this interesting and is well-situated. Good stuff.

What could go better with a porter than corn dogs and Hercules In New York on the telee? Well, idunno. Poured chilled this has minimal head and a dark brown-black body with vague carbonation. Heavy smoked grains aroma on the nose, shoe leather, beef jerky, braised steak. Flavour is lots of smoked barley with leather hints, right inside that smelly old smokehouse I tells ya, with a dry finish. Great oily texture, lots of local porters are too watery for my tastes but this one gets it right. A good beer, good on Prince Rupert for their excellent brewery efforts.

On tap in Prince Rupert. Nice coffee and barley aroma, good foamy head and dark brown body. Good heavy bean and barley flavour with a sharp finish. Very nice to have on the north coast.

650ml bomber found in Prince George, on the special shelf, like it’s not normally found ers somethins. Poured chiled it has literaly no head, just a vague golen body; and a soft sweet lemon and hop aroma. Flavour is lemony hops with a hint of motor oil and mustiness; kind of a weird smooth mouthfeel where the hops don’t shine through. Can’t say I liked this one, it was neither here nor there but could be really enjoyable with a bit of tweaking.

5.3% alcohol by the by. 650ml bottle found in Prince George, if you didn’t wanna do the 727km trek to the coast to get some.Pours pretty well with decent head and heavily carbonated orange body. Lots of hops on the nose and little else. Flavour is sharp hops a la an IPA and dry finish. Just fine, drinkable, not memorable.

650ml bottle found in Prince George. Minimal head and clear golden body. Soft aroma of citrus and cereal, honey, graham cracker. Flavour is honey and crackers with a sour tart finish. Sugary. Didn’t find it too interesting, but seemed reasonably well made.

Aroma has light smoke, light amber colour. Bitterness, smoke, bit thin, the kolsch part is weird but it’s a nice beer.
