2010 vintage 275 ml bottle; dark brown pour, glorious velvet like tan full bodied head, rich coffee chocolate aroma, taste is like heaven, amazing balance of rich malts chocolate and coffee, slight smokiness, carbonation is just about perfect with a real slick mouth feel, this English beer lives up to the deseved hype.

Bottle at home (post ChrisO Xmas tasting - to wash away my sins, because I’m worth it etc etc ... thanks to Craig Garvie) 30/12/12 2010 Vintage. Pitch black with a thin tan head that soon dissipates to nyadda, small puddles cling on to seek attention! Nose is dark malts, dark fruits, molasses, treacle toffee, dark sugars, leather, tar. touch of burnt toffee. Taste comprises rich full on roast malt, dark fruits, light smoke, prunes, dates, raisens, wood, dark treacle toffee (Bonfire night 1980’s school boy stylee), dark bitter chocolate, molasses. Full bodied, minimal fine carbonation, smooth as, sweet, boozey, roasty finish, Great complex dark fruit infused imperial stout. Well balanced and boozey.

27.5 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy and light toasted malty. Toasted malty, sweet, light caramelish and bitter. Light fruity and crisp hoppy finish.

Caramel copper, clear, off white head, good colour
Aroma of soft sweet toffee malts, sweet raisin, dab of sherry, sweet fruits
Taste as aroma, slight liquorice, dab of sherry, quite complex, caramel, some red berries
Palate - Soft carb, medium to full body, sweet. FInish of more fruity malts, soft warming alcohol
Overall - Decent enough, but not one of their top beers

ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Light haze on this amber beer. Big fluffy white head. Light dry palate. Mild caramel malt. Reasonable hops - citrus and pine. Semi dry finish.

Bottle 500ml. @ home on the terrace.[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, fruity, berry, light to moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, berry - fruity, nutty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120520]
