Bottled@chriso pre-gbbf shindig 2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, wooden and mildly alcoholic sweetness as well. Flavour is fruity, alcoholic, mild spices, nuts and some slight toasted notes. Big toffeeish and fruity aftertaste with some mild alcohol as well.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. It pours cloudy golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is dough, light spice, straw and citrus pith. The taste is dough, spice, leather, caramel and golden syrup. Medium body, fine carbonation and well-hidden alcohol. Lacks the body I expect from Old Chimneys. Not much to it really...

Bottle 275ml. @ home on the terrace.[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Unclear - hazy matt light to medium amber colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity, vitage malt, light wood, alcohol - buzzy. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, candy yeast, caramel, fruity, UK hops, plum - mirabelle fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is fizzy but looks very flat in the glass. [20120715]

Bottle @ Cloisters. Pours dark and opaque with no head. The nose has toffee and maybe figs. The taste has figs and more toffee. The palate is sickly sweet - big structure but struggled to finish the bottle.

2007 bottle with a best before of 11-2012 thanks to cquiroga. Rating number 6300. Pours with a inky, thick black body with a small and quick to fade head. Glass coating when swirled with some lace. Aromas are of nougat, brown sugar, raisins, molasses, bready, light smoke and brandy. Dark fruits and a very rich toasted malt character. Flavors are of brown sugar, dates, dark fruits, nougat, biscuity malt, milk chocolate, mild tannin, earthy and leathery. Chewy and viscous mouthfeel, lighter carbonation and a touch warming. Smooth and tasty.

Black ink color with brown compact head. Very nice aroma of chocolate, cocoa nibs, light leather, light alcohol, hint of roasted nuts. Very smooth mouthfeel; flavor of roasted malt and dark chocolate, with an unfortunate touch of liquorice, light leather; no alcohol perception.
Very good, not impressive though.

Black color; small head. The aroma is very British, it’s yeasty, also cheesy. Good body strength, and round mouthfeel; chocolate malt flavor, light tobacco; moderate sweetness; medium to low bitterness; light final astringency. Good.
