275ml bottle, lot. no. 463, many thanks to Fin&Loz and Isobel for the beer gift. Bubbly, brownish head reduced to a remaining layer. Jet black body. Sweet aroma of vanilla and dark malts, a bit port-like. Confectionery taste supported by dried fruits like figs. Roasted chocolate ending. Smooth, almost velvety, in the mouth. Full bodied. Enjoying (shared with Finn at a drinking session in Tromsø, 01.10.2013).

Bottle shared by Adam at my wedding, thanks! Pours an oily black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with some smooth dark grains and a hint of bitter chocolate. Flavor starts with dark chocolate and roasted malts and has a hint of raisin and dark grains in the finish.

275 ml bottle, vintage 2010, kindly and unselfishly shared by gunnar. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, moderate to low brown head. Lovely and intense aroma of roast malts, molasses, caramel, liquorice, vanilla and sweetened coffee. Intense but also smooth flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma, prunes, oaky and vinous notes. Moderate hops, amazingly well balanced and easy drinking for its strength. I want more of this!

Flaske, årgang 2010, hos Ole Anders juni-13: begrav meg i denne (verten). Rosiner, svisker, portvin, kaffe, lakris og alt som godt er. Et nytt koordinat å navigere etter. 0,275 flaske årgang 2014, delt med trekkspilleren på Våland Brygghus'aktivitetsdag 2.pinsedag: utsøkt drikke med stor dybde og smaksrikdom. Sviskekompott, dessertchokolader, litt muskat, kokos og fikenmarmelade. Nærmest evigvarende ettersmak.

Bottle - 2010 vintage, with a huge thanks to a good friend! Pours deep opaque black with a medium dark brown creamy head that slowly dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma starts to permeate the room upon opening, dark chocolate, deep roasted malts, molasses, dried fruits. Flavor follows suit, with a chocolatey forward, medium sweet backed instantly by big bitterness from the roast, but not really any coffee notes present. Dried fruits, whiskey and prominent molasses play around in there as well. Finish is bitter lingering to the finish, with perhaps just a touch of black liquorice. Full body, silky mouthfeel. Nice beer, definitely up there in stout land.

275 ml bottle shared in a Copenhagen hotel room. Pours pitch black with a small dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, figs, dates, raisins, bitter chocolate, charred wood, vanilla fudge and hints of peat, smoke and coconut. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, prunes, raisins, dark roast coffee, burnt wood, moist soil, vanilla fudge, roasted nuts, bitter chocolate and hints of soy sauce and salty liquorice. Mouthfeel is round, tiny astringent, silky and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, dried dark fruits, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla and wood. Very nice...

Vertical very thankfull to Craig for sharing this moment and beers cons 2013-04-03 Edinburgh - It didn’t fell like it was the same beer... First out 2007: AR: black currant berries, wee chocolate AP: opac black no head F: black currant puré, dark smooth fine chocolate, dark coffey wow very and complex and great brew - one of My top 10... Viscous black dark tan head. Licquorice roast socks aroma. Boozy. Lovely smooth Roasty flavour. Thick viscous palette. Caramel toffee. This beer has a lot of stuff going on. 2010 bottle thanks to Daniel Osprey for this one. A oily jet black coloured pour with a fine dark tan head. Aroma is nice cakey, smooth roast, chocolate warming alcohol. Very good. Flavour is composed of, medium sweet, brown sugars, oak, cakey, jammy fruits,. Really good.
