Keg at Stillwell outdoor bar, thanks to Andrew. It pours hazy amber with a decent yellow-white head. The nose is soft, sweet, spicy, ginger, toasty, doughy, lemon rind and earth. The taste is sweet, oily, stewed orange, fruit cake, honey, toasty, brown bread, light alcohol warmth, apricot, peach and tart tatin with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-rounded. Decent stuff.

Bottle from Bishop’s Cellar, Halifax. It pours clear golden-amber with a decent white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, orange, peach, quite spicy, bubblegum, dough, hay and fresh ginger. The taste is good bitterness, spicy, cracker, earth, ginger, stewed orange, grapefruit rind, nectarine, bread and peppercorns with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and average carbonation. I’m not a huge fan of the style, but this is a well made beer. Solid.

Keg at at Prince George hotel, Halifax. It pours. It pours cloudy amber with a thick white head. The nose is fresh, juicy, lime, lemonade, freshly sugared action and candied peel. The taste is crisp, bitter, grapefruit, lemon sherbet, orange rind, some spice, toasty cereal, spice and walnut. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp, click clean and tasty. Easy going and very drinkable.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt aith cloves, orange peels, nice. In mouth, a nice fruity malt with light spices, curacao, very pleasant.

Great stuff. Pours cloudy red with good head and lacing. Prune and raisins. Belgian yeast and some florals in the aroma. Finishes a little sweet. Comes together super well, great for style. Well-balanced. Cask Days 2013.

A hazed amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity banana malt with kiwi and cloves. In mouth, a nice fruity sweet banana with light maple notes, cloves, almost dunkel like.
