375 ml. bottle @ home. Bottle nr. 1300/3800. Procured @ Willems & Zoom. Very expensive stuff compared with other options. Cherry & Raspberry. I wonder if they used cherry due to the common translation error of translating kriek to cherry. Sour cherry & Sweet cherry have separate words in Dutch. Kriek meaning sour cherry, kers is sweet cherry. I think that, this is the error that happened here. Because this tastes like sweet cherry & not sour cherry. Pours an extremely dark Bordeaux, almost touch dark brown, very little dark pink yoghurt head. Smell is highly reminiscent of every old vintage sweetened lambiek, oxidation, very bizarre, that smell is mixed with sweet yoghurt cherries & sweetened raspberry pure with light sugar. Bizarre. Taste is same dusty vintage old sweetened lambiek, oxidation, sweet old dusty cobwebs, sweetened cherry & raspberry pure with sugar, light metal, oxidized yoghurt, vinous, big oxidation, old sweetened lambiek taste, syrup. Oxidized, tad fruit syrup body. Ligth metallic. Highly unusual beer. Unlike the BIIR 4B Oude Gueuze which was quite traditional. Unlike the regular old sweetened lambiek this is quite good stuff or let us say way more enjoyable. This is very nice stuff, I’m liking this.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ Pure Apricot Tasting. Thanks! Hazy orange, little creamy white head. Nose is quite heavy on the wood, touch bitter wood, very over lambiek, hay, raw, nice funk, light esters, wood is quite overt here, is this Boon? Lots of bitter wood in the taste, citrus, light lacto, bitter hay, creamy wheat giving light sweet balance, med. funk, lemony,… Lively, distinct, overt geuze, quite lovely, exceeded expectations for sure. Price-tag is ridiculous for this one.

Huge, dense, just off-white head, over coldhazed, very carbonated yellow beer. Coriander, bit dullish rootspices, faintly aromatic. Huge head doesn’t help the sniffing... Taste yields more coriander, with an additional bitterness, maybe hoppy, but not necessarily USA hosp. Finish is soapy-perfumed. Wheatslickness, quite velvety, despite the high carbonation. Gold medial for the 666th version of Belgian wit. Ugh.

Bottle at America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours hazy straw with airy white head. Clear, sourish aroma of grain and yeast, with notes of hops. Sweetish, malty flavour, with sourish, grainy and citric notes and bitter, hoppy touches. High carbonation. Lingering, bitter aftertaste. OK but a little to citric.
