Description
Storm Stayed Brewing Co. is a small, community-oriented craft brewery in London, Ontario. We believe that it takes more than just quality ingredients, sound science, and innovative techniques to make a brewery special – it also takes a welcoming, inclusive environment, a joyful sense of camaraderie, and the support of our neighbours and fellow craft beer lovers. We are proud to have been welcomed into our neighbourhood in the Coves near Old South, just as we are proud to warmly welcome all of those who visit our modern, spacious taproom or patio. When you visit us or order a beer online from Storm Stayed, we truly appreciate it and work hard to deliver a product that is thoughtfully considered and expertly brewed. Whether you like traditional or modern and whether you prefer crisp and clean, hop forward, fruity and sour, or dark and malty, we offer our heartfelt thanks and hope to hear from you again.

Can: Poured a cloudy red color ale with a small foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of fruit notes with light tart notes with fruit notes with candy like notes and vanilla.Taste is also a mix of vanilla and fruit notes with some tart notes and candy like notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not a big fan of the vanilla and neither do I like the candy-like notes of the fruit.

This blonde poured a hazy, yellow colour with a large, fizzy white head. Medium lacing. Scents include coffee, buttered pop corn and grain. First swig was crisp, with flavours of coffee, honey and corn. Finish is lightly sweet with coffee and corn syrup flavours lingering.

This red poured a deep dark red, slightly cloudy with a creamy, tan coloured head. Scents include sweet ripe fruit and roasted malt. First swig was very smooth and creamy with flavours of caramel and light hops. Finish is malty and slightly roasted with a little hoppy bitterness lingering. My only complaint is not being able to buy singles. I’m not rolling the dice and paying for a 4 or 6 pack of something I have no idea what it tastes like. Single, sure. But no more.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber/copper color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar with light vinous notes is OK. Taste is a mix of caramelized sugar notes with some vinous notes, light oak presence with a semi-dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not bad but lack some of the rich malty notes I was expecting and not sure the wine aging adds much to this type of beer.

On tap at Storm Stayed, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out intense coconut and chocolate upfront, with just enough vanilla and lactose. Flavour is rich and chocolatey, with ample coconut. The other adjuncts I get less of. Chocolatey, coconut-y palate. Delicious.

On tap at Storm Stayed, pours a cloudy bright golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with diacetyl - ugh, that is nasty. Flavour is a big butter bomb; there are some pleasant notes underneath, like tropical fruits and dank hops, but the diacetyl kills this for me. Undrinkable.
