Mild wood and butterscotch nose. Clear copper, thin head. Dried leaves with a kiss of maple syrup. Well balanced, but the flavor could be better. Fizzy. Meh.

Super hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a thinnish, one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of super pungent wheat, tons of hops, alcohol, bread, yeast, coriander seed and a bunch of curacao. Full-bodied; Strong alcohol flavour with some resin and a bunch of hops in the mix, all with a lot of oranges, grapefruits and a rather bitter metallic note. Aftertaste shows some strong flavours with the hops up front, alcohol and a strong earthy yeastiness. Overall, a rather deep and full-flavoured beer with some good tastes and perhaps too much bitterness, some from hops, but most from alcohol and metallic flavours. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 24-October-2012 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 10-Noember-2012.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a clear bronze color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Nice looking beer. Aroma of maple, nuts, toffeeish malts, herbal almost tinny hops. The taste is big maple notes, nuts, apple. Very granola-ish. Some stone fruits and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, slight lingering bitterness and slight lingering sweetness. Nice beer.

Aroma: Kind of a dull nose, light malts, a little nuts, some caramel
Appearance: Clear caramel-orange color, small head, medium-plus lace
Flavor: The flavor, like the nose is kind dull, it has a ight malty flavor
Palate: This beer has a fairly light body, a somewhat creamy feel, and average carbonation
Overall Impression: Not very impressive. The nose and flavor are both fine, malty, and boring. Don't rush out to try this one.

A bodega, six-pack ($11): Pours near black with a brown head. Aroma is kind of like a soda mixed with an IPA and Porter; there be chocolate in small amounts, with plenty of American hops. Taste is sweetish at first then gets bitter and astringent and the bitterness sustains into the aftertaste. It is a bit harsh, but not unpleasant. Roasted malts compliment the hops well. Not a bad black IPA.

Bottle shared by John. Pours cloudy amber orange with off white head. Nose/taste of maple syrup, pancakes, caramel and lightly ripened fruit especially Bartlett pears. Body is on the thinner side of medium.

Bottle shared by John. Pours reddish amber with off white head. Nose of nectarine, pine/resin, caramel malt and sea salt. Taste is mostly caramel and resin/pine. Finishes slightly abrasive resin. Medium body.

Hazy deep copper coloured body with a thick, seven centimetre tall tan head - very large, of course. Aroma of malt, raisins, grapes, yeast, nuts and a bit of caramel and maple syrup, but just sweetness in general. Medium-bodied; Strong maple flavour at first in the taste with a definite sweetness over everything else. Some malt behind with apricots, raisins and a lot of earthy nuttiness. Aftertaste almost warm (even though beer is cold) showing some good malt flavours and that sweetness that persists throughout. Overall, a bit off on the balance, but some good sweetness and a nice maple flavour work well for the style, but don’t expect a great beer stacked up against others...this is a good amber with a nice sweetness. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 01-October-2012.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Caramel, citrus and resin aromas. Thin to medium-bodied with sweet caramel upfront turning to earthy grapefruit in the lasting finish.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Folsom, CA. Pours amber with a 3 finger creamy beige head. There’s a nice roast malt backbone with a lot of resin and some citrus. It has a certain lushness in the mouth. It finishes very bitter. What’s not to like?
