The foiled screw top bomber pours deep ruby red to amber with tan head. The aroma is a mix of cherry, pine and thick sweet maltiness along with a bit of sugar and spicy hops around the edge. The taste begins with pine hops and cherry like notes and then moves into increasing levels of pine hop bitterness, some crystal malts and malt sweetness. Yeah, I dig this.

Well, its about what you’d expect. Light bodied, a little wheaty, with strong fruity overtones. However, there was at least an interesting tartness to the fruit that was kind of funky, and if you used your imagination, you could almost think you had an unblended lambic in your hands. Not a very good one, but still. Near straw color. Side note: why does the commercial description make such a big deal about the acai addition, but the beer is named only after the pomegranate?

12oz bottle pours copper in color with semi loose white head. The aroma offers up spicy hops, tangelo like citrus hops and a touch of grapefruit. The taste is similar with spicy hops, floral hops and a moderate hop bitterness that intermingles with lesser amounts of citrus hops. Toward midway and into the finish the flavor hoppiness and mild malt sweetness fade and leave a lingering bitter hoppiness. The body is on the thin sessionable side which certainly works well for this session beer.

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white micro head with very good retention recedes to coat surface. Hot banana and clove aromas. Dark sour clove front to back with a cloying clove finish. Cloves.

22oz bottle thanks to AirForceHops
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy golden with a big creamy white head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Wheat, yeast, clove, citrus and spices
Taste: Sweet malts, citrus, spices, hot alcohols with a bitter finish
Ok. The sweetness and alcohols took over and covered up a usually light and refreshing beer.

Pours a really clear deep golden color with a huge bubbly white head that sticks around forever. Smells of clove and allspice with hints of banana. There’s lots of spicy yeast esters and a bit of lemon in this one and I heard tell there’s some malt in here too, but I can’t find it in the nose. Oh there it is. First sip proves there’s some sweet malt in there. Taste is tart spicy phenolic-y. There’s malt up front followed by an unpleasant alcohol burn then some clove and nail polish. Finishes with a lingering alcohol burn mixed with lemon pledge and a bit of earthiness. Sweet sticky mouthfeel, medium to full body and a spirited level of carbonation. Wow after the last few Peak beers really impressing me, this was quite a letdown. I don’t think the high level of hops the spicy wheat, yeast, and alcohol meld very well in this one. One and done.

Foil wrapped screw bottle cap topped bomber (this combination is a first for me, screw top and foil wrapped!) pours dark mahogany with full mocha head. The aroma is a bit disjointed with pine hops, card board, citrus, burnt malts, black strap molasses and spicy anise. Doesn’t smell all that great. The taste begins with an initial mix of dark roasted malts, burnt malts, bitter and bold resiny pine hops and a dash of grapefruit hops. Toward midway the roasty malts are joined by some chocolate and earthiness. The taste is great since I’m in the perfect mood for this. Yum.
