Bottle. It’s an almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, white head. Citrusy, piney nose with some maltyness. Flavorwise it’s much the same, citrusy and piney and slightly malty sweet. Nice bitterness, but maybe a bit weak. Medium to full body, quite dry. Nice and lasting finish. A straight forward tasteful and pleasant IPA. A beer I could drink a few of. 110621

22 oz bottle. Purchased at Gary’s Beverage, Portsmouth, NH . Color of grapefruit juice. Thick, huge white head that died within about 2 minutes. Leaving a small ring of spider web lace. Taste upfront is a sweet clove, light banana with a nice grapefruit toward the finish. Little to no bitterness. I pick up some pine as it gets warm. Medium to fuller body. This is the 1st dry hopped German Hefeweizen I ever had. A very nice and interesting take on my Favorite style. Very enjoyable, I’m going to get a few more bottles before summers end. - Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Color hazy amber, well carbonated producing quarter inch off white head. Great lace in the Sam Adams perfect pint glass. Nose is delightful freshly ground coffee bean. The carbonation dances across your tongue leaving a lively hint of coffee bitterness. A finely done amber with copious amounts of coffee throughout the brew. I will buy this again. LiteWait shared her bottle with me, excellent choice!

Twist of bottle. Looks like iced tea. Smell is a little metallic. Decent co2. Taste seems harsher than 5%. Malty thru & thru. Hops in the background and leaves a medium bittter finsh.

12 oz bottle. Hazy amber brown with full creamy off white head. Sweet nutty aroma with an almost fruitiness as well. Taste is the same as nose with a bit of sugar. Lighter in body with a thin mouthfeel. Not a bad brown but for sure a little below average for this style. Good brown for the warm summer months.

LiteWait shared a 22 oz bottle with me. When they say, King Crimson that is what it looks like. Nice amount of carbonation adds a thin consistent small bubbly white head. Aroma is mostly pine. For taste provides a pine resin, no fruit from dry hopping, only pine. Palate is pretty simple. Creamy mouthfeel while a little dry in the finish. No bitterness what so ever and it has an element that makes me want to drink it more. Rather enjoyable, depending on your craving. I would drink this again.

22oz bottle. Opaque deep brown-black, maybe just black, with a pretty respectable fluffy beige head. One of my favorite Peak beers yet, this really nails the style. Creamy chocolate tones on top of a rough hop barrage. Some alcohol to round out the rich depth. A really solid beer, not unlike Old Rasputin...maybe a touch more hops. Thick, oily tones that are truly the essence of the Black IPA. An awesome beer, well done.

Pours pale gold into a Sam glass. Bright white micro head conglomerates as it slowly recedes leaving spotted sheets. Resin and grapefruit aromas. Slightly harsh with sweet biscuit and bitter resin upfront turning to dry grapefruit in the lasting finish.

Pours solid black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Toasted pumpernickel and sweet roasted pine aromas. Dark caramel and roasted chocolate beans from front to back. Lasting burnt vanilla and resin finish.
