On tap at the Alibi Room for the 400th beer list event, pours a clear copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma of cracker malts, toasted malts, and crisp German hops. Flavour is exactly the same, with a very crisp palate and a great balance of flavours. Very traditional and expertly made. Great stuff.

Nose and palate of diacetyl, not much else here excepting some faint hops. Obviously something wrong here

Cask at Central City Winter Cask Fest '13, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of winter spices, wood and some metallic notes. Flavour brings out a strong mixtures of spices (including vanilla and cinnamon), metallic notes and rotting wood. Quite off-putting, especially for Tariq's usual quality standard - perhaps this is a bad keg. Barely drinkable - this cask at least is not so thrilling.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color, with small sized head. The aroma is delicate, with some fruity hops, soft, and light sweat trace. Lean mouthfeel; the flavor tends to be a bit too much caramelly, although dry, and with a earthy/manure touch; quite strong bitterness, where the hops provide more strength than else, still in the final some resins and fruits can be noticed. Long final.
Very good, but it doesn’t deliver the feeling of freshness and lightness that I prefer in a perfect modern IPAs.

Cask at Alibi Room, Vancouver, with Fuggles
Dark mahogany color with generous head. Very nice aroma of caramel and fudge, traces of spices. Round mouthfeel, soft; it has an excellent flavor of dark caramel, with nuances of fudge, cakes, earth; it’s moderately sweet; the bitterness seems quite low.
In the final there are some roasted nuts and a feeling of Christmas cake, some dark chocolate too.
Excellent beer!

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is full of resinous hops, pine, and buttery malts. Flavour has lots of earthy hops, fermented leaves, and buttery caramel malts. Not an overload of hops, but well balanced and easily drinkable. Becomes a bit metallic after a whole. Decent, standard IPA.
