On tap at Figurehead, pours a hazy dark caramel colour with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt, candied sugar, Belgian yeast and fruity esters. Flavour is much more aggressive and full than the session dubbel, with toasted caramel, bready malt, and fruity esters. Fairly low residual sweetness. Solid.

Draft pour at Figurehead, during their opening weekend celebration. Rating from notes. Clear and shiny golden pour with a halo fizz head. Soft banana to this. Has a dry champagne like yeast as well, that covers the straw grain finish. Fun to try this unique style in a tiny brewery just opening in Seattle. With these unique beers coming out right away, I really think they have something going here. UPDATE - Retry month 2017. Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound. Still love the style being so unique around here. Same impressions the second time around, but a bit more refreshing. Good stuff.

Enjoyed on draft during the Figurehead grand opening weekend. Instantly impressed with these guys and the beer. This one in particular had a fun, unique story behind it. Copper orange like pour with a thin fizz head and sticky lacing. A caramel malt aroma with very little hop influence. I was unaware that an IPA could be pulled off so well without the use of hops during the boil. Here I sit enjoying a beer and being taught a thing or two as well. I love it. Flavor is malty, but very pleasant. Caramel, with a hop flavor to finish, with 0% of the bitterness that would usually go with it. So that’s what happens. Cool finish. Very nice introduction to Seattle’s 60th brewery. Congrats guys, and keep up the good work.

On tap at Figurehead, pours a hazy dark copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out floral hops and toasted malt. Flavour tastes more like an amber that's been dry hopped, with toasted caramel bready malt and floral and resinous dry hopped by. The hop-less boil is an interesting catch, which ends up tasting more like an amber that's been heavily hopped. Nice stuff.
