Description
Maui Brewing Company was founded by Garrett Marrero and Melanie Oxley. They started as a single brew-pub, a small restaurant that served its own locally brewed beer in January 2005. Demand for the beer outgrew the space available in the brewpub and in 2007, Maui Brewing Company started producing and packaging beer out of a separate production facility. In 2012 Marrero and Oxley opened yet another larger production facility, which increased their capacity from 18,000 barrels of beer to almost 40,000 barrels.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: golden yellow to copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated to leave some light speckled lace.
Aroma: pineapple sweetness up front with some sweet wheat underneath, light grassy hops
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas together sweetly; finishes crisp with the pineapple
Texture: light bodied, sessionable, mobile on the tongue
Overall: not bad and would probably be pretty nice fishing or lying on a beach somewhere.

Beer Republic Advent calendar day 13, packaged may 20, yikes. Caramel and mild hops nose, on gold beer with a decent fine head reminiscent of the sea in Hawaii. Nice West Coast notes, big bitterness that's a wee bit harsh. Not much tropi-hoppy left, a lot of citrus. I'll have to rate it up a little because it's clearly a better beer than this when fresh.

Beer Republic Advent Calendar 2025, Red Edition. Door 17. A murky and light yellow beer, a head is medium and white. Aroma has fruitness, grapefruit, mango, naturally. Taste has fruitness, mango, grapefruit, the fruitness feels too heavy. Medium bodied. Too heavy because of added fruits.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 29A: orange, mango, guava / 21C). Can 35.5 cl - Batch undeclared (BB: undeclared - Canned on 06/09/2025). AROMA: medium-high hop aroma (grapefruit-like and lupulin) with faint hints of guava. medium-low neutral-sweet malt background. slight peppery alcoholic notes. APPEARANCE: pale yellow color and hazy. medium-low white to off-white head with average retention. TASTE: medium to medium-low hop flavor (grapefruit-like, pine, slight mint) with a medium-low neutral-sweet malt background. medium to medium-high bitterness balancing an initial sweet impression. finishes semi-dry with a bit of bitterness that persists. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium carbonation. slight alcoholic warmth OVERALL: the base hazy IPA is ok but the added fruit is practically gone with just some very faint hints.

Can fer nearly 3 bucks at vintage estate. Pour is off pale slight orange tint hazy with a big head that fades rapidly. Looks like grapefruit juice with a head. Mild grapefruit nose. First taste impression is its like bitter grapefruit juice. Needs more carbonation. Difficult to find the guava, orange or mango in this mess. Could pass as a bitter grapefruit juice shandy, hehehh. Still, the IPA hops in there keep trying to make their presence known. Ok for a tick and for this macro lager lover the taste thankfully is not terribly on style mouth coating viscous resin bitter hops IPA. There, you have it. Hard to believe this stuff is actually 7%. Comes across much lighter than that.
