Touch of chill haze. Copper, not much head. Nose is bretty, toasty, and thatβs about what you get on the palate. Thereβs food things but how much does this really come together? Iβm skeptical.

Dark brown, thin head, massive coffee nose with sweeter chocolate syrup notes. Bitter coffee roastiness, backed with chocolatey sweet malts. The coffee notes are maybe a little heavy-handed but since they come across clean, I wonβt fuss.

On tap at VCBW Festival 2017, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fairly laid back, with subdued saison yeast, some floral notes, and citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with saison yeast and dry citrus hopping. Nothing authentic, but pleasant enough. Meh.

On tap at the brewery. Clear medium amber with a small off white head that leaves minimal lace. Nose is light caramel with resinous pine and some citrus. Flavour follows with light caramel sweetness and a medium pine bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 7/3/7/3/13

On tap at the brewery. Slightly hazy pale amber under a small lingering off white head that leaves some lace. Nose is light caramel with light citrus and tropical fruit. Light sweet malts with a light+ bitterness. Mouth is slightly thin with average carbonation and a light lingering bitter finish. Was expecting some more pronounced hop character from a West Coast pale ale. 6/3/6/3/12

Draught at Bomber, Vancouver; 5.5% ABV
Black color. Notes of coffee and cardboard, the low carbonation helps, fire wood, not too ashy, and with notes of dark chocolate in the final.
Nice.

On tap at Bomber, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of oats, roasted barley and dry cocoa. Flavour is very dry, with lots of roasted barley upfront, followed by dry cocoa and some oats. Medium-bodied, hearty and well-balanced. Very nice stuff.
