Dark brown. Nitro head. No aroma of course. Soft body, but the cold and nitro kind of knocks out any flavour, certainly any malt subtlety. Not a great method of serving for this type of beer.

Draft - Light toast and some roast. Jet brown black with a rich beige head. Dark roast and some light sweetness. Chocolate comes through, but salted caramel doesn’t exist.

Amber, slight haze. Has a vinegar note, lots of raspberry, nice lactic character, less acetic, lots of raspberry. I like it...complex and drinkable.

On cask at Yaletown, pours a cloudy amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is quite hoppy for a red ale, with resinous hops and bready caramel malt. Flavour is quite sweet, but balanced, with resinous hops and caramel malt duking it out. Some residual candied sweetness on the finish, but not too cloying. Very good.

On tap at Irish Caskival at YBC. Pours a hazy orange amber. Aroma is hoppy with tropical fruits notes. Taste is sweet with tropical fruits bitterness and same aftertaste. Really good one.

On tap at Whistler Brewhouse, pours a reddish dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out notes of vanilla, a little cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is quite subtle for a Baltic Porter, with notes of vanilla and toasted malt upfront, with secondary notes of cocoa. More like a robust porter, with a touch of vanilla sweetness. Solid beer.

Draught at the brewpub; 10 oz
Cloudy, blond color with some orange, frothy head. Dry Hefeweizen, weak mouthfeel; it has some spice aroma and flavor, and almost no fruity esters; too much carbonation, too much yeast flavor; low bitterness; there are some yeast byproducts in the final.
Rough offer, though not totally bad.

On tap at Whistler, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with a dry bready caramel malt backbone. Thick palate but not overly complex. Not bad.

On tap at Whistler, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp crackery malt and gentle hops. Flavour doesn't have much to it - light bready notes and again a gentle hoppiness. Finishes somewhat metallic. Not very thrilling.

On tap at Whistler, pours an opaque dark orange brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out bitter bready malt. Flavour is fairly bitter with English floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Some slight off-flavours, but not too bad. Okay.
