I was sort of excited to see what Cigar City would do with a hard cider, but for me, this was just run-of-the-mill. It's fine, but there isn't much that separates it from other pretty solid examples of the style.

Taste like a granny smith apple, which I loved, until Chron's took it away.

Draught @ BrewDog Bar Gbg. Pours clear golden with no head. Smell is fruity with golden apples, star fruit, heavy passion fruit, tropical fruit hard candy, dry soil, minerals and lemon peal. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly sour and fruity with sour apples, passion fruit, mango, tropical fruit hard candy, minerals and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is flat, round, slightly tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and slightly sour with apples, passion fruit, dry soil, minerals and lemon zest. Amazingly fruity but slightly too sweet and uncomplex to get top scores. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hard Cider on 07 Feb 2015 at 15:57 - Score: 8. Original review text: Tart star fruit bomb. Yummy!

Nice stuff, better than a lot of ciders I’ve had. Sweet finish, like golden delicious apples. Pours golden without much head or lacing. Small note of tartness. Tap at Churchkey thanks to Donny.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this cider poured a bright golden color with a trace soapy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was tangy honey, apple and was a touch medicinal. The flavor was tangy and sweet apple, bread, a bit of honey and a touch of pepper. Medium length finish. Surprisingly full bodied. Solid.

Sample at the tap room. Pours a pale yellow color with a thin and fizzy white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of apples and spice. Light-bodied with a mildly tart apple character and notes of spice and malt. The finish is fruity with an apple aftertaste. Decent overall.
