At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight transient dark tan head. Aroma suggests this A'sE barreling was not bourbon. Nor rye. Dark malt/dark fruit. Full bodied. Not dry, but nowhere near sticky. Heat stands in for bitterness, perhaps with some burnt malt. Flavor is "whiskey", dark malt, dark fruit and a touch of chocolate. Toss in heat as well. Some smoke appears. Nice stuff.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a small but persistent dark tan head. Aroma has rum and toasty dark malt. Med plus body. Not dry but avoids sticky. Flavor has a little heat, a lot of rum and plenty of malt. Brown sugar and wood notes as well. NIce indeed.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a large creamy tan head that didn't persist. Aroma is whiskey / toffee / date. Full bodied. Flavor is the aroma plus a nice level of heat. Not dry, but not sticky. Some oak astringency. Heavy duty and tasty ale.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours very dark, but clear against strong light, brown. Aroma of whiskey and toasty malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is toasty malt, whiskey and some wood notes. Rather exquisite.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a decent and persistent creamy dark tan head. Peat is the principal aroma. Dark/burnt malt second. Full body. Flavor is chocolate and peat. There's an agonizing/draining feeling as the liquid drains away. Not a bad thing - - maybe agonizing was over the top. Not dry. Not sticky. Burnt malt bitter. Very nice.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours semi-opaque dark brown with a slight but persistent tan head. Aroma of peat and malt. Full bodied. Flavor is nicely peat with some roasty/toasty malt in support. Not dry and barely avoiding sticky. Heat hardly noticeable. Extremely approachable for a peated ale. As RateBeer comes to a close, it's nice to put in an excellent ale.
