6.4/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 6 Texture 6 Overall 5.5
On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. Pours a dark red orange appearance with an off white head. A bit chalky, toasted grainy, herbal aroma - no hint of the cherries. Maybe a touch of fruitiness in the flavor but it is more nutty and caramel driven than fruity. Brewer told me they put a ton of cherries in it but I didn’t get them. Tastes like a generic amber ale.

On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. Pours a golden orange appearance with a white head. Soft, citrus fruity aroma with lightly toasted malts. The flavor is a little spicy with lots of citrus fruits and a bit of pine. Bitterness is pretty high but this is pretty good.

On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. Pours a dark golden orange appearance with a thin tan head. Caramel, light diacetyl, bready nose. Dull carbonation. Some butterscotch in the flavor with sweet, toasted malts. Herbal, earthy hops. Could use a little work but still decent.

6.2/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 6 Texture 6 Overall 5
On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. The brewer told me this is different from the Mild Ale ("we dialed back the dark malts significantly for this release "). Pours a copper appearance with a light brown head. Pretty nutty, caramel aroma with some light fruity notes. Chewy bready flavor. Light caramel. Nutty. Earthy. Light body. Slightly floral. Ehhh.

Draught at the brewery, as Double IPA. 7.8% ABV
Hazy amber color. Nice aroma, mild, both fruity and animal. The mouthfeel is quite lean; caramel flavor, the hop has a moderate animal character, and fairly resiny/piney character too.
Good.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy light amber color. The aroma is moderately resiny, lightly feety. The mouthfeel is very dry; not much flavor from the malt, mostly the flavor comes from the extreme hopping. Dry and resiny final, with light animal character.
Not the best IPA around.

Cask at the brewery
The color is back, the head is very small. The mouthfeel is a bit oily, some coffee flavor (and aroma), light sourness (the plums?).
Anonymous.

Draught at the brewery
Black color. The aroma is moderately resiny. The flavor is rather chocolatey, and very hoppy/resiny at the same time.
This is what you would expect from a Black IPA. Straight. Good.
