Description
GBC started as a contract brewery in 2011. In 2018, Scott assumed majority ownership and completed extensive renovations on our facility with the generous help of extended family and close friends. In early 2021, Isaac West joined the Brewery as the brewmaster. Since May 2021, we have a new General Manager, Nathalie Lavergne. We are pleased to provide a beautiful and inviting atmosphere, quality craft beer and friendly service to our community of Gananoque and the surrounding area in Eastern Ontario.

Pretty light. Smells a bit like rye. Some character. Pours cloudy orange with decent lacing, some head. Nothing a lot going on here besides the rye. As far as being a pale ale, it doesn’t bring that much of that vibe to the table. On tap at volos.

Smells booty, like fermented fruit juice. Pours a super cloudy arange with pretty good lacing. Aroma has apple cider and tonic water. Smell is very strong but not necessarily good, or representative of style. Taste dies off very quickly, virtually empty aftertaste. Very average beer. On tap.

Draught at C’est What, Toronto
Light amber color, small head. Some caramel aroma, a bit metallic. Dry mouthfeel; mild malt and toffee flavor; strong bitterness, but without much hop quality; the final is strong, but again a bit metallic.
Ordinary.

I had this twice tonight and I enjoyed it a lot more as the first beer of the night. I noticed a bit of bitter hops and an unplaceable type of sweetness I would put halfway between honey and something I can’t think of. It was alright, but since the only other eisbock I’ve had is the best one it doesn’t really match up that well. On tap at Burger Bar.
