Good in a flight, would have had a pint if time allowed. Stands out from its fellow served brews with an inky blackness, imperial stout of course. My serving had little or no head, I would have poured it harder to get one. I enjoyed the complexity, others with me did not so much. For me I get raisins and dates, molasses, stiff maltiness certainly. Also I detect a whiff of smoke and a berry sweetness too. Not bad at all. With 10% ABV, a little will go a long way.

Served at the Austin brewery in a flight of companion brews. An attractive light amber-red with a thin white to tan foam. Good first impression with spices, firm push of malt. I detect a touch of cough drop, not a complaint, and a hint of alcohol at the end. This was the favorite in our group.

Another sampling from ABGB’s home place. This one shows up nicely with a dark yellow body and a light off-white head. Scent of hay. A sip gives you light lemon with some grassiness along with a fair amount of hops. Ends with a decent bitterness. A pleasant stroll.
