Kolsch is one of my preferreds in lower-impact beer styles. This 12 oz can of Allgood was in mixed sixer given to me as a birthday present by a friend of a family member. Nice surprise. Completely unfamiliar with the brewer or the beer, I’m ready to make the pour into my Great Heights snifter. Kolsches are happy appearing beers and this is no different, sunshine yellow with active carbonation and a small top of white bubbles. The scent is consistent with the style, light citrus, hay and an impression of sweetness. And the taste stays with The nose, lemon, sweet corn, straw and water. It’d be better on a hot summer day, still quite decent.

12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine in Denton, TX. Pours a clear bronze color with a beige head and great retention. Virtually no lacing. Sweet malty aroma. Starts with the standard sweet caramel malt flavors but the finish is rather sharp and harsh and boozy. Overall tastes like a caramel malt liquor. Disappointing.

12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine in Denton, TX. Pours a mostly clear orange-gold color with a thick off white head and great retention. Decent lacing. As expected, aroma of light hops and malts. Similar taste with a little mixed in. The hops bitterness is a little stronger than the malt sweetness, like an IPL. Crisp mouthfeel. Medium+ body. Not bad.

Very clear, golden and lightly peach coloured body with a relatively large, six centimetre tall, pure white head that leaves a very ugly lace on the sides. Aroma of guava, light soap, mangoes, quince, a dash of figs and a ligthly biscuity, very grassy malt scent that shows a lot of grainy notes, while still showing a lot of fruits. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and very herbal flavours up front with a lot of fruits still noticeable and a dash of light sugars and fructose, but the malt and lager flavours definitely show through. Aftertaste shows the fruits nice and dry with some good and noticeable sweetness, but the lager qualities are stronger than anything else, both in terms of the yeast, but also the biscuity malt component, but all things considered, this one shows fairly nicely and the fruits hit well, especially for the style. Overall, a nice and fruity lager with a lot of good flavours and a solid profile that shows well, especially for the style. Overall, a nice and fruity beer that would work really well in the summertime, or pretty much anytime in Texas, but this even was a nice beer on a Winter day here in Washington, as it was full of flavour and depth, sampled at home in Washington on 22-March-2020.

Can. Banana, clove, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Medium brown with small head. Moderately sweet banana, clove, light toffee malt, and hay flavor. Light body. Okay - smelled very nice but didn’t come through in the flavor.
