Taster at Colorado Plus. Pours black, with a small to medium, bubbly, tan head. The nose is black coffee, anise, burnt toast, and maple. Dryish, with a burnt bitterness. Medium body, with a harsh, sticky palate. This is a solid stout, if a little aggressive.

Pint at Apres, in Breckenridge. Pours a hazy, pale, yellow color, with a medium, frothy, white head. The aroma is hay, butterscotch, dust, and apricot. Dry and dusty, with a mild bitterness. Light to medium body, with a sharp, dry, and astringent palate. This is a nicely done, dry saison. Simple and quality.
