Description
Home of Extraordinary British Honey. We produce only the finest natural single origin honey and honey.
In 1999 I was missing my rural Shropshire roots and simply had to find a way to bring a bit of the countryside into my life in the capital.
I considered keeping pigeons or pigs, but inspired by my encounters with, as then illegal, rooftop beekeepers in New York during my days as a photojournalist, I installed honeybees on my roof near Tower Bridge.
With urban beekeeping almost unheard of at the time, this simple act captured the zeitgeist: an appetite for pure natural food to be brought back into the heart of the city, for food to come straight from where it is made without interference and to let a quality ingredient speak for itself. The London Honey Company was born.
Today, we are dedicated to the production of extraordinary British honey and passionate in our pursuit of the continued craft of beekeeping, its traditions and methods.
We believe, it is this dedication to nature that creates the glorious range of honey we are known for today. From the Kent coast, to the rolling Cotswolds, to the high Shropshire Hills, our slow beekeeping methods have created a distinctive range of pure natural honeys for all the world to enjoy.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from the meadery. Pours clear, pale yellow. The nose holds floral honey, dried honey, wheat flakes. Light sweet flavour, quite dry for a mead, with more floral notes, dried wheat bread. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Fairly dry and clean in the finish, more floral honey, wheat bread. Not as sugary as I like my meads, but this is really drinkable.

Bottle #641, batch 1. It pours clear pale yellow. The aroma is rich, slick, sticky, sweet, honeycomb and some floral notes. The taste is soft, tart, juicy, dry, pear skin, slick, oily, apple skin, honey and some floral action with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smells like mead, but tastes lighter and tarter. Odd, but sort of nice.
