Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.
On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear amber - blonde with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, estery fruits, banana, pear, toffee apple, melon, some spice, floral accents and nuttiness. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, fragrant, floral, spicy, grassy, citrus peel, estery fruits are there but more subdued than on the nose, green banana, pear skin, straw, grass, cereal and a nuttiness. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent blonde. Drinks well and has a decent dry finish.

330ml bottle as Tongerlo Blonde. It pours clear blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, bready, toasty grains, cereal, nuttiness, green banana, bit of grass and floral accents. The taste is crispy, firm, dry, snappy, prickly, bitter - sweet character, quite floral, grassy, straw, peppery spice, fairly muted fruitiness, green banana, fresh pear and a kick of alcohol with a drying finale. Medium body and high, prickly. Kinda sharp carbonation. Not as sweet as many blonde ales. Fairly sharp and snappy. Not bad.
