Can (17724, so 6/25/24) from Total Wine & More, W. Hollywood. Deeply hazy orange with light sparkle, ephemeral fizzy head, no lacing. Aroma is strong candied blood orange, lemon, pineapple. Taste mirrors aroma. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, Finish as taste with no bitterness. A bit sweet but enjoyable dessert treat.

Very hazy straw yellow coloured body with a pretty large, off-white head that has large soapy bubbles that fade quickly and leave a pretty ugly lace on the sides. Aroma of very strong and pungent tropical fruits, with somehow, all of the fruits that should be here - tons of passionfruit tartness, some rich guava notes and a kick of acidic oranges - a great smell throughout with some alpha acids from the hops, sugars and alcohol here as well. Medium-bodied; Very rich oaty malts show at first, then some funky aspartame and fake sugar flavours show as well, with a dash of the tropical fruits here as well. Aftertaste is pretty well-rounded, with some grassiness, a touch of dryness, but a lot of the tropical fruits of course, show right away, but the funky aspartame and fake sugar flavours bring down the finish. Overall, a great smelling beer and while the balance is about right, the fake sugars and aspartame notes make this not as great as it could be. Nice to sample, still, from California and probably worth the space in my suitcase from CA to Oklahoma to Washington, but it'll make me yearn for the next trip to Hawai`i of course! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in North Beach, San Francisco, California on 29-August-2022 for US$2,63 sampled at my house here in Washington on 27-September-2022.

16 oz can from John, thanks again, 11/12/22. Unclear yellowish color with a white head and fairly strong lace. Citrus, bread, spice, and some hints of butter. Flavor is okay, but a touch off. Despite hearing about this style for what seems like 5 years at this point I haven't had a ton of Cold IPAs. Not impressed by this one, and I'm still not sure I understand the distinction from an IPL, though it's some sort of Ale made cold vs lager concept I guess, I don't know, but that's probably just me. Anyway, this beer is just okay overall for me.

Can pours out hazy straw topped with a white head. Nose is grain and some grass hops. Taste is more of the nice light grain cereal malts and grass.

Very hazy golden and straw coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall off-white head that fades quickly and doesn't leave any lace on the sides. Aroma of super tropically fruit notes with guava, mangoes, oranges, pineapple and a bunch of passionfruit noticeable in the nose - very nice, all with a good malt scent of wheat and some oats and a little hint of alcohol noticeable in the nose. Medium-bodied; Assertive tropically notes dominate up front with guava and mangoes front and centre with a lot of grass here as well and some perfumey notes to couple with a dash of aspartame and funky fake sugar notes on the finish. Aftertaste shows some flowers and grasses here, but the tropically notes, the juicy sweetness and a light dose of hop bitterness are all here, but the balance is very nice here with some smooth malts throughout. Overall, a nice and robust, refreshing and tropically, fruity IPA that somehow hits all the N.E. and new school IPA marks nicely while providing a small dose of bitterness here from the hops. Great to try and very nice as my second to last beer here! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in San Francisco (North Beach), California on 29-August-2022 yesterday, sampled in my hotel room here in Vacaville, California on 30-August-2022.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice thin, but noticeable single centimetre tall off-white and tan head that caps the beer nicely. Aroma of roasted malt with canella, allspice, grain and icing sugar all noticeable with a hint of alcohol as well, but the spices and especially the sugars really come out here. Medium-bodied; Relatively thin and not as thick as I was expecting with some roasted malt notes, a dash of coffee and molasses bitterness, but more from the canella and brown sugar sweetness here than anything else with a thinnish finish as well. Aftertaste shows the sweetness from brown sugar, icing sugar and molasses with some canella, allspice and even a dash of anise here as well with some bitterness from coffee at the end as well. Overall, a nice and enjoyable, very sweet and spicey beer that is good to drink and fairly reminiscent of a churro (or any cinnamon donut, even the powdered sugar variety) but a touch thin and mellow to be a 'true' East Coast Winter beer, but this is perhaps best for the chilly (if they ever happen) days in Southern California to drink while eating some nice food. Good to sample and worthy of the space in my suitcase, but not perfect nor a 'must-have'. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Fairfield, California on 07-March-2022 for US$2,63 sampled just over a month later at my house here in Washington on 03-April-2022 after running the Cherry Blossom 10miler with my wife.
