Bottle. Pours clear amber with oily texture. Clear aroma of honey and tart apples, with touches of fermentation. Crispy, tart onset, giving way to sweet notes of honey. Bitterish aftertaste of alcohol with notes of apple and fermented honey. Oily palate. Decent.

Bottle, 16%. Citric aroma, slowly becoming sweeter with more honey notes and hints of tobacco. Clear dark golden colour. The flavour is sweet and caramelly with a good honey note. Acidic aftertaste, perhaps from the apple juice.

Hazy deep golden body. Strong, heavy, sugary fermented honey aroma. Lean, creamy, caramelly, honeyish taste. Not much pineapple presence I guess except in the aftertaste, but quite a sugary mead, vague rum and raisin notes perhaps, very warming. Pleasant!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear amber with a few tiny bubbles as a head. Straight, oxidized honey notes. Rich, sweet body, no carbonation. Sweet - but not cloyingly so - honey notes, oxidized with a warming finish. I totally do not get the pineapple notes, the muscovado sugar maybe. Pretty much exactly how I want a mead to be - if not exactly overly complex. 220620
