Bottled. Orange colour, hazy. Overpowering aroma of grapefruit. Soapy and sweet. Dominated by aroamtic hops. Quite bitter finish.

This brew is dark amber with a medium thick off-white head. Thin lacing in patches all the way down the side of the glass. Strong caramel aroma with a little fruit. Rich body, with a lot of caramel and malt in the flavor. It is pretty hard to hide that high an ABV, but this beer does a pretty good job. The alcohol flavor is not very strong. The alcohol is sweet up front and gets progressively more spicey throughout. This is a very good beer.

Great dark copper colour with a nice thick dense tan head. When held up to a light, the beer is nice and ruby tinted. Aroma of honey, malt, raisins, pit fruit and even a bit of hops. The taste is very strong and malty. Full-bodied; Flavours of honey, raisins are very noticeable and quite pleasant. The aftertaste is quite bittering from the malt, but at the same time...very sweet from the pit fruit and raisin flavours. One of the better Quads I've had...and I'm happy to now see that there is a category for them instead of just a 'Belgian Strong Ale' category for them all! I reccomend that anyone who might be able to find this, to definately try it as it was great! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia.

Has a thin, straw-colored body with a thin white head. Has an intriguing aroma of earthy, spicy light fruit, including banana-like esters. Flavor was likewise fruity, spicy, and sweet. Alcohol is well-hidden. A very tasty Tripel, and a nice complement to Unibroue 11.

Sampled at From The Vine monthly beer tasting Aug 4th, 2003: Pours a nice thick dark borwn with a medium dark beige head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, coffee and oats. The body is not as big and bold as I like in an Imperial Stout but it is still good. Basically all the things I love about the flavor of this style - Roasty malt, caramel, alcohol, chocolate and coffee - are all here but in less quantity than the greats like Dark Lord, Siberian Night Rasputin and Stone. The finish is a little hoppier than those too. This beer is on the verge of being an excellent example of the style. A little more richness and complexity and it will be there.

This is a pretty standard little witbier - nothing really stand out about it - it has everything you'd expect - the cloudy golden appearance, the spicy nose, the tangy, citrus flavor - there is a mild sweet/tart combonation at the end that leads into a crisp and refreshing, slightly spicy finish - quenching - on the whole it's enjoyable, but still run of the mill.

The beer is a hazy yellow with a very thin, fast-dissolving white head. Aroma not pleasant, but largely filled with corn. The taste is thin-bodied and resembling the aroma. I love belgian whites, and I do like Weyerbacher, but this one (just like Hop Infusion) is a HORRID representation of the beer. The aftertaste is like water mixed with wheat and corn. I don't know if there is a single good factor about this beer other than the fact it came from Weyerbacher. Definately try another white, this one isn't a good choice for the style.

An imperial that pours like Anchor Porter, with a similar, sweet malty aroma. Nice malty flavor, and a smooth, non-viscous mouthfeel. This could be a disappointing brew after drinking Rochefort and Stone Imperial, but it holds up well. A nice Imperial. If you get the chance, a purchase will be nicely surprising.

Pours a rich copper color, with a quickly dissipating white head. Strong, sweet, caramely aroma is apparent upon pouring. Flavor is a rich, complex blend of caramely, bready, and dried-fruit flaovrs. Syrupy, oily mouthfeel gives this one weight. An excellent barleywine, in my estimation.

Hmmm...I must admit that I had my doubts about this one considering the fact that I didn't enjoy their Merry Monks tripel very much, but this is a mighty fine brew. Tiny head, but otherwise beautiful, dark amber appearance. Aroma is complex, with brown sugar, plums and molassas making their presence known in full force, as well as some alcohol in the mix. Flavor is complex yet subtle, with notes of cherry, raisin, plum, prunes, port and some other flavors I can't identify. Finish is big and malty. There are some characteristics of a barelywine as well, as other reviews have pointed out. Peppery and spicy as well, with well masked 12% ABV. An excellent offering. This is a fresh bottle, so I'm sure this will get even better with age.
