28/04/2018 – 10cl glass shared with an international ratebeer crew @ZBF2018 Hazy light yellow, small white head quickly gone. Nose is fruits, especially citrus, bit herbal. Taste is fruits, yeast, bit hops.

Hopfiger, moderat würziger Beginn. Leicht herb, süffig, spritzig, eher trocken. Naja.. 10/8/8/9//8

Bottle. Hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is grassy, fruity, herbal hops. Taste is grassy, bready, a bit strawy, but a good amount of hops as well. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Good!

Straw blond and hazy. Aroma and flavour have light tropical fruit especially tangerine. Not overly bitter.

F: thin, white, quick gone. C: yellowish, hazy. A: fruity, apricot, floral, bit basement. T: fruity, light peach, floral, bit funky, medium body and carbonation, not bad, easy drinkable, sample draft shared with Germany and BE RB crew @ ZBF 2018.

42 cent per sold liter is donated to international and local charity, hence the name. Clear pale golden with a thin, frothy, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, bready malt, yeast, citrus, grass, flowery hops. It tastes light fruity sweet and light to medium hoppy bitter, a bit grassy. Dry, hoppy, 'tonic-like' finish. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Quite flawless, but a bit too 'friendly'.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A hazy golden beer. Aroma of dry mild grassy yellow fruits, yeast. Taste of dry bitter hops, yellow fruits, yeast, citrus fruits. Easy.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled draft @ ZBF 2018. Orange, small white head. Nose is oddly brett, tropical fruit & canned fruit, wrong for the style but interesting, better than the taste which is too plastic, chalk, doughy, stale & brett. Strange chalky brett body. Not what it should be but okay.

Belgian imperial stout, brewed by the brother of the guy who runs M-Café in Leuven, which is exactly where I tasted this (apparently at the same time and in the same room as kraddel, initially unknowingly). Creamy, egg-white, stable, pale beige head over a black beer with hazy mahogany brown edges, only visible under bright light. Aroma of black coffee, old bitter chocolate, pipe tobacco, dried elderberries, tree leaves, cigar ashes, toasted brown bread, dry beef stock cubes, earth, butterscotch, baked banana slices, tea. Sweetish onset with outspoken roasted grain sourishness running through the whole, hints of dried berries, fried banana and fig with a light beefy umami accent, fizzy but 'refined' carbonation, full mouthfeel, tad grainy. Deeply nut shell-, black chocolate- and toasted bread maltiness, more bitter than sweet especially when a strong coffeeish roastedness comes up, even turning ashy in the finish; expressive black coffee-ish bitterness matches with peppery, leafy hop bitterness, an earthy - and in a sense very 'Belgian' - bready yeastiness and a warming yet non-wry, 'jenever'-like alcohol effect. If there should ever be such a thing as a Belgian style imperial stout, something you'll either like or not (same as with Belgian IPA attempts), then this is a classic example of it. Motivating to explore more of Malterfakker's range, though yeasty and earthy as well as very roasted and ashy and in that sense a bit old-fashioned (and typically Belgian) compared with the current international trend towards sweetness in heavy stouts. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

Pours ack, good dark head. Smell is coffee, bitter, tar, some chocolate. Taste is sharp, roasty, astrigent. Another of those unbalanced, way to much black malts, imperial stout attempts. Sweet, sticky, ashy ending
