Two hand-pulled pints in the Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on Sunday afternoon, 16th Feb 2020. Clean and clear golden body, decent white head that hung around to give some heavy lacing. Hoppy, fruity nose and taste. Good blend of piney and citrusy hops with a deep malty backbone flavour wise. Nice one Ken.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2019 in the company of the brewer. Pours a clear deep brown, thin off-white sheet atop. Prominent caramel aroma welcoming you in. Smooth, light palate, nice caramel malt character, good gentle sweetness with a low bitterness. Pretty good dunkel.

Cask half-pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 12th Jan 2017. Very surprised to see this on offer as I thought Ken (Finney) had only brewed it for the 2016 Wellington Oktoberfest: can’t believe it’s been sitting around until now before being put on. Anyway it was fine: very dark brown with ruby edges and a full, lightly tanned crown of foam on top. Smouldering Peat aroma and taste, malty and interesting throughout. Good body depth too.
