Description
Traditional craft cider, made naturally using 100% juice and apples handpicked from orchards in West Somerset. Fermented slowly in small batches.
Established in 2012 by Nick Middleditch, we produce small artisan batches each year through a process of natural slow fermentation that utilises only the wild yeasts that occur naturally on the apples whilst growing in the orchards.
Using apples from once-forgotten orchards, Watchet Cider Company aims to produce an authentic West Country cider for the modern consumer.
Every batch of cider is different using only the best available fruit at the time. All our ciders are matured for at least 6 months with minimal intervention and long cold fermentation. Watchet Cider is a product of which we are very proud.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear glowing gold with brief fizz on top. Aroma of sweet fruity apple juice, white sugars, light funk. Taste is semi-sweet and fairly mellow, tangy apple juice, stewed apple, light barnyard funk, mild bitter apple skins. Medium body and carbonation, oily. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear darkish gold, brief white fizzy head. Aroma is sweet with fruity apple, some apple skins, caramelised sugar, light funk. Taste is sweet with light stewed fruity apple and caramelised sugars, touch of cardboard, floral blossom. Medium body, oily, modest sparkly carbonation. Good - fruity, caramel, floral, not too sweet for a sweet cider. Bad - light cardboard note. Slight tooth rot feel on palate despite it not tasting too sweet.

0,5 flaske på East Quay Cafe: klar gylden med kort bruseskum. Beskjeden aroma men god smak av lokale ciderepler. Forfriskende, passe tørr og med kort ettersmak.

Box @ Pebbles Tavern, Somerset. Pours unclear orange. Aroma is a touch sour, medium sweet apple fruit. Taste is noticeably sharp and acidic, which could be toned down a bit, some sweet apple juice though appearing a little dry. Ok.
