2001 version: Bit of roasted malt and some apple in the aroma. Also roasted malt in the taste. Alcohol, apple and vinegar. Yeasty. Thin for such a strong beer. Amateuristic and disappointing. (5 3 4 2 7 2.1) 2003 version: almost opague. Sugary licorice aromna and flavor. Roasted malt, even a bit smoky. Cola. Bitter aftertaste. This beer has bettered considerably since 2001. Not great, but good enough.

Chocolate aroma with a hint of apple. Yeasty flovor with apple, chocolate and a hint of metal. Thin. This is the Burg beer with the cleanest palate. Some points deducted because the beer is too thin. More malt, less sugarand maybe some more hygiene (the brew kettle is in the middle of the beer shop, therefore a good chance of infections)and you have a good beer!

Free sample from tap at the brewery to celebrate the new year. The alcohol percentage is a guess, there was no mention of it at the brewery tap inside the store. Full bodied, fairly yeasty beer. Very malty with lots of cherry fruit and just a hint of roasted malt in the flavor. Upcoming sourness.

Aroma has malt, pepper and pear. Sweetish taste with pineapple and orange. Full bodied and a good lacing, clean and fresh palate. Alcohol present, but well hidden. Not very complex, but pleasant enough and the best Burg can offer.

Strong coffee and milk chocolate aroma, like Wiener Melange. Also Wiener Melange flavor. Yeasty, very thin and water. Far from perfect beer, but drinkable.

Orange brown color. Vague malty, yeasty aroma with hints of spices. Orange flavor, some yeast, some hops. malty, medium bodied. Clean enough, but not very much going on in this rather sedate tripel.
