Description
Gethin planted his first apple pip in 1990 at the age of 8. Who would have thought that many years later he would plant another seed, not of a tree but of a budding cyder business! The apple tree is now fully grown and after its fragrant pink blossom it bears small sweet apples. Just as that tree; Gethin’s hobby of cyder making has now rooted itself and is nicely in fruition.

In the autumn of 2002, already a keen home-brewer and tired of the same old chemical ridden industrial ciders, Gethin decided to attempt to make cider for the first time under the name of “Sudd Cwmpo Drosto” (falling over juice).

In 2007 production was once again increased when Gethin agreed to take the reins of his friend’s cider making project called the Abbey Apple Co-operative in St Dogmaels.

The business name was then changed from “Sudd Cwmpo Drosto” to “Gethin’s Cyder”.

Bottle with Grumbo. Aroma of sweet apple, woody, funky, slight spice, brown sugar and apple core. Good more funky and spiced as time went on.
Taste starts now sweet and has a nice drying finish. Good cider, enjoyed it.

500ml bottle from Fire & Ice, Narberth. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head reducing slowly. Aroma is golden sweet apple juice. Taste is medium sweet with slight overripe apples, apple core and an impeccable, balanced blend of apples. For a new cider producer this is extremely good.

Bag in the box at Reading BF 06. Very silver white gold in colour. Farty perry aorma. Flavour in mouth is excellent. Bit of rubber/chenical but not in a bad way. Good juicy perry, bit sweet and then sour and dry. We all liked this I seem to remember
