Light haze on this deep gold beer, few off white bubbles for a head. Palate is dry and crisp, very dry. Bone dry malt, slight caramel streak. Bittersh hops, trace of marmalade. Dry finish. Bleh!

Bottle from Borough Wines Kensal Rise and drunk at home. Black beer dark brown edges lasting dark beige head. Chocolate and a little lactic on the aroma. Malty milk chocolate aroma. Same flavour in the mouth with a little dryness on the malts. Some sweetness, some milkyness. Not my style at all but pretty decently done. Bit of milky coffee too.

Bottle from Borough Wines, Kensal Rise. Clear deep amber colour lasting near white head. Sweetish toffee aroma. It has some hop but not much and next to the Kernal pale ale I had before it, it does rather pale in comparison. Sweet malt carries on through, I’m guessing somthing like crystal malt. Some dryness on the finish, some toast. OK, but nothing special.

Bottle tasted with the Beast, 19th April 14. Not sure what happened to the hops in this one, seemed overly sweet, faded hops if any and malt forward. Older bottle perhaps..
