From tap at Liars club, noted as just Coronado Pale Ale. Pours clear and golden orange. Lacing white head. Smooth caramel malty aroma. Dry malty and light spiced hoppy flavour. Smooth and hoppy fruity finish.

Bomber from South Bay Drug. Slightly hazy orange tinged amber color with a minimal white head that quickly degenerated into a few bubbles. My nose knows there’s a lot of pine in here, but it’s not sure whether there is also grapefruit. It’s a very strong aroma. Very full bodied with creamy carbonation. The flavor is like chewing pine needles, with a little malt sweetness. Finish is quite definitely bitter, but it’s smooth, balanced, not harsh. There’s a lot of hop, it’s just not harshly bitter. Damn, but it’s a fantastic drink.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear yellow-gold color with a minimal white head that fizzes away quickly. Spotty lacing. Mild hops and malt aroma. Light-bodied with light hops and malt flavors, along with a hint of hay and corn. The finish is mildly spiced hops and does not linger long. Barely passable overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear orange-amber color with a minimal off-white head that fizzes away quickly. Ring of lacing at the top of the glass, with dense spots underneath. Light citrus and hops in the nose. Light-bodied and mildly hoppy with a sweet malt base. The finish is effervescent and mildly hopped, with a sweet aftertaste. Fairly straightforward overall.

Bomber pours deep gold with white head. The aroma is full and loaded with grapefruit tartness and sweet tangelo along with a hint of malt sweetness in the background. The taste is fresh, bright and refreshing and doesn’t lead on at all to the label stated ABV. I get sweet malts that quickly bleed into a load of grapefruit hops and tangelo. Very nice experience. The Belgian yeast approach compliments the late addition hop flavor and sweet malts nicely. Yum. It has a somewhat dry finish.

Samples at Callahan’s in San Diego. This beer pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Light piney hops and citrus in the nose. Medium-bodied and lightly bitter with flavors of hops and citrus, with some sweeter fruits (tangerine) and sweet malts underneath. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering fruitiness left behind. Sweeter than a lot of IPAs, and slightly above average overall.

Orangey-amber with slight haze. Liquorice root, pomegranate, and somewhat cherryish nose. Deep taste - almost like a dubbel with dark fruits and liquorice in a pale beer. Slightly bitter, but moderately sweet in the finish.

Orangey-amber colour. Mango, simcoe nose with yuzu and chewy malts. Strong, but with a sweet hop fruitiness. Very bright. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavours. Very bitter finish with woody hints of alcohol and light crystal malt chewiness. Suprisingly did not leave any lace on my glass.
