Description
Folklore abounds in the marketing of Skinner’s Cornish beers, which were first supped in 1997. Steve Skinner heads a successful Cornish business whose beers are seen throughout the county and nationwide too via good wholesale distribution. Countless barrels and hundreds of awards later, our brewery has grown but remains a family business rooted in the area we live and work, whether that’s doing our bit for our corner of the planet, enjoying a bit of surfing or having a go at some shanty-singing.. The brewery has a 25-barrel plant, a good beer shop and well presented visitor centre.
In early 2023 taken over by Goodh Brewing.

Cask @Beer Hunters (fresh). Hazy amber color, decent creamy head. Flowery hoppy nose. Mild flowery hoppy flavor with balanced grassy notes. Ok session ale - just a bit too thin and boring "for serious drinking".

Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Amber colour with thin white head. Honey aroma. Honey and hay in mouth, bit of herb. OK, just a tad of urine from somewhere. Not my favourite honey beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, pale amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy nose. Rather light body, vague floral, hoppy accents. No real bitterness but overall extremely pleasant and quaffable. 260606

Cask@Lincoln Beer Festival 2006. Nice dark beer with a malty and roasted aroma and a light plainly bitter coffee flavour. Overall a nice plain stout.

A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is slightly acidic and quite perfumated.

Cask handpull at The Cove, Covent Garden with Yogi Beera, Pivo, Chris_O and Kook. Ooh this was poor. Not sure what it should be and not sure Skinners, who are normally pretty good, should have made it. Golden with disappearing head and the barmaid had not improved it by adding a slice of lime to the glass. Bizarre, odd and I can’t really say anything else.

Cask handpull at The Cove, Covent Garden with Yogi Beera, Pivo, Chris_O and Kook. Copper colour with lasting beige head. Nice hop/malt aroma, some yeast. Bit of an earthy finish. But a nice best bitter and I am biased as I used to drink this a fair bit at The Mogul in Dover.

Is it me, or do all the beers from this brewery basically look and taste the same? Amber-brown color, rich caramelly nose, that is surprisingly a bit vinous. The mouth starts earthy, then caramel malty flavors. Malty dry finish
