Description
In the past, the beer industry in Indonesia has always been pilsener or lager.
Two well-traveled and huge beer enthusiasts, Bona Budhisurya and Jacob Suryanata recognised that there was a need for better quality and good tasting beers. Passionately about this idea, they made it their mission to produce Indonesian craft beer that can compete on a world stage. Craft brewing in the Northern mountains on The Island of the Gods, Bali. We are proud to say that we are producing the only beer made in Bali which is also the only craft beer in Indonesia.

330ml bottle from the Kuta brewery. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is big mango. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, juicy buttery mango palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Tasty, but would soon become very sickly.

Draft at the Kuta brewpub. Poured a murky golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is yeast and banana. The flavour is yeasty, with a crisp, dry yeast, crushed banana, bubblegum, herbal, light clove spice palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. A lot better than I was expecting. Consistency at breweries like this is clearly an issue and beer quality can change from batch to batch, but at least this batch was good.

Dark with minimal fuzzy head. Aroma is fantastic and full of coffee, molasses, brown sugar, cream, slightly burnt malt. Thin AF body. Very acidic flavor. Some coffee, lightly sweet. Very meh. Kinda not great.

Bottle on the Bootle Brush, thanks to Simon, 08/12/19. Murky mahogany brown with a decent beige head. Nose is rye bread, grains, faint toffee, dried fruits. Taste comprises dark malts, toffee, faint cocoa sprinkle, dusty fruits, trace of cardboard. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable affair.

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of wheat and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, and wheat, leading to a dry wheaty finish.
