Description
In the past, the beer industry in Indonesia has always been pilsener or lager.
Two well-traveled and huge beer enthusiasts, Bona Budhisurya and Jacob Suryanata recognised that there was a need for better quality and good tasting beers. Passionately about this idea, they made it their mission to produce Indonesian craft beer that can compete on a world stage. Craft brewing in the Northern mountains on The Island of the Gods, Bali. We are proud to say that we are producing the only beer made in Bali which is also the only craft beer in Indonesia.

Bottle, 0.33b, courtesy of Rade. Pours cloudy golden color with small frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, grassy and a bit vegetably. Taste starts light sweet grainy, follows refreshing citric with rather dry mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation. Not bad at all, just a bit too watery...

Cloudy deep redbrown colour, big frothy beige head, dissipates quickly, light lacing. Fruity nose, banana, bubble-gum, bit nutty, cloves. Taste light sour and sweet, bit of citrus. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, aftertaste sweet and sour, fruity and spicy notes. Somewhat heavier and more complex than the wheat version but slightly less convincing, though altogether another nice surprise from this part of the world...

Rich super hazy golden coloured body with a soapy, large white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, yeast, wheat and a ton of light coriander seed. Medium-bodied; Very wheatie flavour with a ton of rich yeast notes coupled with a lot of banana and coriander seed freshness with a hint of lemon and citrus at the tail end. Aftertaste shows a great refined character with a good yeast kick and the sweet yet slightly sour finish from the banana and the wheat. Overall, very refreshing and easily my favourite beer here on Bali during this trip - well worth searching out for if on the island and stocking up on - luckily they had this one at the minimart closest to my Villa, but I only saw it at one other store that I went to in my six days here. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Circle K at Jl BatuBelig next to the Astana BatuBelig, but also seen at Pepito Market on Jl Petitenget in Seminyak/Kerobokan, Bali Indonesia, this bottle purchased for IDR28,000 on 27-June-2014 sampled a few hours later at my villa.

Bottled in Jakarta. Cloudy nut brown, rich firm head. Aroma of lemon and caramel. Sour with light-medium body and spritzy mouthfeel. Citric acid, caramel and chalk in a sour green apple finish. Some caramel flavours tries to fight back the massive infection.

Draught at Portico, Senayan, Jakarta. Cloudy golden, rich but brief head. Citric tangerine aroma. Mid sweet with light body and well rounded mouthfeel. Flavour of coriander and lime juice.Soft and freshening. Really good wit, glad I dared having another go after their disastrous bottles. Old rating - bottled, in Jakarta. Cloudy straw colour, rich but brief head. Lemony nose. Acrid sourness from evident infection. Medium bodied with spritzy mouthfeel. Lemony dishwater flavour. Completely ruined, more than 1 year before BB date. (1/2/2/2/3 = 1.0)
