Bottle. Almost clear brown to amber body with a medium sized, fast disappearing tan head. Moderate aroma of malt, some caramel and toast. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, toast, low bitterness and hardly any anise. Medium body and average aftertaste. Drinkable but not very impressive at all.

Fra flaske på maritim juleølsmaking ombord på Fridtjofen, des-17: rødlig rav med ok skum. Et maltdrevet, nokså intetsigende øl, lett krydret. Anis kjenner jeg ikke. Saftig bitterhet i ettersmaken hjelper lite på helhetsinntrykket.

Aroma gjær, malt, plomme. Utseende uklar brun med rødskjær og lett beige skum. Smak malt, mørke frukter, krydder, noe gjær, karamell. medium fyldig, god maltsødme, moderat bitterhet, litt gjærsmak uten å skade. Godt juleøl. Flaske kjøpt på Gulating Tromsø, 50cl 4,6% IBU18

Medium beige head. Deep dark reddish brown hazy opaque body. Herbal anise aroma with faintly dirty notes. Sweetish caramelly anise taste with acidic toasty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, low carbonation mouthfeel. Sweetish caramelly spicy aftertaste with mealy anise and dark wood notes. Kind of slack and unfocused. Unimpressive. (0.5l bottle, from Meny Strømmen.)

500 ml bottle, batch 45/46, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.6%, 18 IBU. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Nice malty aroma, some caramel and pine. Malty flavour too, not too sweet, again caramel and pine / wood, a little fruit, minimal hops. Not much anise, TG. Could definitely have been worse.

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish mineraly, weeds, sour grass, yeast, fruit stones, old moss, raw cellar, raisins, anise. Taste is slightly harsh sour-ish grainy, weeds, minerals, grass, yeast, dried grain, metal tank, paper, old moss, toast, anise. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!

Bottle. A lightly hazy pale golden colored beer with a finger thick white head. Fruity aroma with grass, some pine conesand a light bready many touch. It's dry on the palate, nicely carbonated and medium bodied, with a decent bitterness. Grass, pine cones, pale malts and a faint metallic hint in the flavor. The metallic touch is more present in the finish. Overall, sure s decent pils. 171022
