About
Orono Brewing Company opened with a bang on NYE 2014 and ever since then we’ve been doing exactly what we want to do: brewing the best beer we possibly can and sharing it with friends. We love beer and we love bringing people together. We believe in paying attention to every detail, to collaboration and evolution, and to sharing the OBC experience with our growing community. It all starts with our small, tight-knit production team led by co-owner Asa Marsh-Sachs. Asa combines the experiential education and creativity of nearly a decade spent running home-brew stores with a deep dedication to running a top tier production brewery. He’s built an all-start team and together they weave the art and science of brewing together masterfully.

Pours a hazy amber from a can. Big mix of varied fruit aroma and taste. Good beer.

Immediate whiffs of oak, followed by key lime. This saison is not quite as sour as I feel it was meant to be, partially because the plum isn’t totally successful. But the key lime is great & overall this is a refreshing, ambitious mixed culture endeavor.

Bottle shared with my brother: pours dull red with small head. Aroma is cherry, vinegar, quince, vinegar. Taste is cherry and quince, vinegar and a bit of funk. Solid.

Can at Home Plasticine, phenolic, quite bitter, lacking malty backbone and sweetness to compensate. Really quite poor. Purchased at Premier Gourmet

16 oz. can. Thanks going to tfontana on this trade. Canned 08/10/20. Aroma is sweet grain with some soft tropical fruit. Flavor is a reflection of the aroma. No specific fruit stands out. Furthermore, this has a large amount of sweet malt; if this sits for any length of time it’s going to become overly sweet. Drink within 60 days of canning!

Can (8/10/20) pour from The Beer Store, Nashua. Appearance is opaque yellow-light brown with no sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with decent retention and light soapy lacing. Aroma is nondescript tropical fruits. Taste follows aroma with strong nondescript tropical fruit initially, later grainy malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and sweet finish as taste with virtually no bitterness. Overall, nondescript but very tasty. Look and feel are spot on; a tad over carbonated.

Can from the Packie Pours a somewhat hazy deep yellow in color with a moderate sized bubbly white head that shows good retention. Dripping with tangerine, pineapple and tropical notes with a bit of sweet bread to counter. Light earth and pine come through a bit in the flavor as well as a bit of caramel. Smells like new money tastes a bit old school. Pretty decent.
