This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that sustained for a good minute before dieing off. Moderate speckled lace.
The aroma had a sweet to bready to Belgian crisp funk. Lemon to citrus bitterness. Some soapiness, subtle grassiness.
The flavor melds the previously mentioned aromas together enveloping them with a subtle floral underneath. Belgian breadiness endures through this and leads on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Some bready stickiness, but acceptable.
Overall, it’s a decent Belgian pale ale. Maybe again.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a dark red to brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated evenly. Lacing seems to coat evenly around the glass and eventually spider webs nicely.
The aroma centers around some tea-like to earthy tones. Very low amount of hops, with a graceful amount of peaty malts. Somewhat smokey, somewhat smooth, low dried sweetness. Sticky caramel. Some toffee. Sticky malty aftertaste with finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low to medium carbonation. Fairly smooth on my tongue.
Overall, pretty good Scottish ale and close to style for an American brewer to pull off. I would have this again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice level pace. Ruddy messy lace.
The aroma has coffee grounds, light cocoa beans, somewhat of a cocoa butter, some toast and then a ruggedly sweet oatiness.
The flavor follows the aroma pretty much right on spot. The aftertaste seems to be pretty balanced between roasty coffee grounds and sweet oats. The same as in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionabiltiy about it. Low carbonation yields a nice smoothness running all about.
Overall, sweet stout? weird, but this is way more balanced than your normal sweet stout. I’d have it again for me, but normal sweet stout lovers, your sweet tooth probably wouldn’t be fixed with this one, I say more of an English Stout.

Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a rugged golden amber color, sly hues of light yellow lace. Slim finger’s worth of white foamy head. Messy lace.
The aroma starts with some caramel sweet malts, subtle nuttiness. Sly grassy hops, somewhat bitter.
The flavor leans sweet and then strays to the bitter side. Doesn’t really stay together. Malty lean aftertaste. Sly sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Malty smoothness.
Overall, pretty good American Strong ale. I could have this again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The aroma starts crisp sweet to nutty malts rolling over some light bready malts. Light bitter grassy and earthy hops. Solid amount of toffee/caramel malts.
The flavor balances nicely between the roast and the sweet. Earthy and spicy hops slide underneath. Sly roasty to grassy sweet to bitter aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation leans fairly light.
Overall, pretty good brown ale, always a nice style to have this time of year.

Bottle from Bert’s Hazy deep golden color with a small quickly dissipating bubbly white head. Caramel maltiness with a resinous earthy pine on the nose. Thin caramel maltiness with some earthy pine and a bit of astringency. The spruce is subtle the beer is a bit thin and flabby. Not horrible.

22oz bottle in trade with Jeff, thanks. very thin white-hazy gold. A-sweet lt/med malt-some peach, slight hint of smoke. T-sweet lt/med malt-some peach, slight hint of smoke, spice tingle/effervesence.

Bottle from the Lazy Dog Slightly hazy light yellow with a bubbly white head that shows moderate retention. Very floral nose with hints of honey and earthy sweet bread. The flavor is a bit sweet like the nose suggested with bits of earthy rustic floral notes. I came in thinking I might not enjoy this, but I was pleasantly surprised.

650 ml bottle purchased at CBC, Portsmouth location for a price of $7.00. Green sticker on bottle reads 2015- 07- 25. Could you straw color with good carbonation level. Chalice has suds of lace down the sides. Aroma shows the dried chamomile flowers with a very light Belgian yeast.

Flavor shows the dried chamomile throughout the sip and it comes off very mellow and subtle. It doesn’t overwhelm at any point. Whatever yeast strain was used is also noticeable at the backend of the sip. Carbonation level is smooth with a nice mouthfeel. This brew is tame and subtle overall. Good news is it has no off flavors or flaws. Easy drinking.

Bottle from the Drinkery Derry. solid black color with a decent sized long lasting foamy beige head that persists. Rich chocolate aroma with hints of earth and spice. Light caramel with a big milk chocolate maltiness offset nicely with a subtle earthy spicy pepper flavor. Rich creamy velvety mouthfeel. Medium Body. This is a nice beer, but I feel like it would have worked better for me with a bit more chili presence.
