Description
Belenium is an artisanal brewery rooted in Beaune, a town of history(s) in the heart of Burgundy. The name of our microbrewery is a tribute to Belenos, Celtic god of light revered 2000 years ago and who gave his name to our city.

In 2014, Alexandre Faupin, Nicolas Seyve and Jean-David Camus decided to found Belenium, the first (micro) craft brewery in Beaune. These three Beaune residents of origin or adoption have decided to bring to life through this local project the values that are dear to them and reflect their environment: quality and flavor of products, use of local resources, combination of tradition and 'innovation.

Bottle at Le Trente Trois in Beaune. Amber with a glow, a carbonation, and a thick frothy-bubbly head from it. Hoppy with some yeasts evident, it's a full-tasting amber ale.

Bouteille 33cl à La Gentilhommière, Nuits-Saint-George, étape retour vers la Belgique.
BB 07/2022, lot# L645.
Couleur brune-ambre, col fin blanc-cassé peu tenace.

Bottle brought back from France - thanks, Anke! Hazy golden, thinning, white head. Aroma of apricot, apple, yeast, white bread, unripe banana. Taste has sweetish maltiness of apricot, apple & grain too, bit yeasty-bready. Grainy, grassy hoppy finish, lingering yeastiness & young yellow fruit. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Quite yeasty but drinkable.

Bottle from French supermarket - many thanks, mom & dad! Hazy ochre with a quickly thinning, white head. Aroma of yellow apple, pear, melon, unripe banana, wheat, pepper, vague peach. Taste has sweet banana, apple & melon, wheaty sour touch & spicy bitterness against a bready backbone. Peppery hoppy finish, lingering wheat & yellow fruit. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Pleasantly fresh.

Pancake batter ingredient that required tasting. Just your average Belgianesque brown. Pretty flat taste, malty, some sweetness and a hint of dried fruit. Nothing offensive or exciting, so in that regard it's a really good style example.
