The final can in my trilogy of disappointment following my trip to a Copenhagen 7 11. Don't judge me, I needed food and beer. Anyway, a weird metallic taste to this one and really not good at all. The evening was saved because the hotel has a night cap happy hour commencing at 10pm so I rounded things off with a very agreeable scotch and a Calvados. I had forgotten how good a Calvados could be - like the essence of baked apples.

Can, 4.6%. OK caramelly hop aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Plasticky white head. The flavour is mostly bitter. Metallic bitterness. With a faint hint of the caramelly hop from the aroma. OK for a macro IPA, I guess. 635313

Draught, 4.6%. Perfumy aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Ok stable white head. The flavour is perfumy and soapy with a mild lemon note. Low bitterness. Bubbly and refreshing. 636314

33 cl can picked up at a supermarket. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with brewing mash, grains, and grasses. The taste is light bitter. Lighter body. Drying finish with lingering brewing mash. Meh.

I would not have suspected Royal brewery to come up with a good alco-free beer. But this is clearly one of the better ones
It even won some award as "best alcohol-free beer" in 2024
Different than a regular beer (as many alco-free beers are), but stands on its own, refreshing, full and good
Malty, bready, fruity/herbal, well-balanced

20/9/2025. Bottle from Raja Stores, Ipswich. Good pour. Aroma is fruity, malted, roasted, dried fruits, chocolate. Medium sweetness, light to moderate roasted bitterness. Medium bodied, very smooth, soft carbonation. Better than expected.
