Description
For Teo Musso, beer is passion, an intense love for taste and certainly a form of expression. Through his recipes, he has communicated special moments in his life, sides of his being and his constant search for the perfect sensory balance.

In 1986 Le Baladin pub opens in Piozzo (Cuneo). Ten years after Le Baladin becomes a brewpub where beer is produced and directly sold. Blonde and Ambrée (both in filtered and non filtered versions) are the first draught beers produced by Baladin.

6/VII/25 - on tap @ Open Baladin (Torino, IT), BB: n/a (2025-629)

Pretty clear yellowish blond beer, creamy dense white head, very stable, adhesive, patches of foam clinging to the side of the glass. Aroma: floral start, some tropical fruits, sweet impression, some apricot jam. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, fruity, gentle bitterness, quite some citrus, a bit grassy. Aftertaste: quite refreshing, some tropical fruits, citrus notes, a bit soapy, piny hops, decent but overall too sweet to my liking.

Clear amber to dark orange beer, creamy dense off-white head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet impression, caramel, sweet malts, strawberry jam, oxidized, smells like quite an old pale ale to me. MF: soft to no carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very malty, pretty sweet, some caramel, sugary, a hint of strawberry jam, gentle bitterness. Aftertaste: malty, gentle bitterness, a little fruity, hint of citrus, some tropical fruits, pretty weak and watery, very disappointing. Again, just like last month when I was in Rome, Baladin again serves me an old (I)PA.

330ml can via Beer52, poured into my huge Judas glass at home on 26th June 2025. Bright amber body, white crown. Fruity nose and initial taste, tropical feel throughout. Nice easy going blend of hops and malts, liked it.

(Draught at Baladin Camden, London, 29 May 2025) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, pineapple and peaches. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, peaches, white bread and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Goryczka niska, wysycenie i ciało w normie.

Mocno przeciętnie, brakuje intensywniejszych doznań chmielowych. Smakuje bardziej jak nieco mocniej nachmielony lager.

Poured from 375mL bottle (from the fiulijnator cellar; lot 2064; likely 2009 vintage). Clear auburn brown with no head. Herbal wood upfront with feint sherry vinegar notes underneath, mild prunes and toffee in the background. Touch of oxidation. Nice sipper.

2/VI/25 - on tap @ Baladin (Rome, IT), BB: n/a (2025-505)

Clear orange gold beer, small creamy off-white head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: a bit malty, some citrus notes, some tropical fruits, but rather faint. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, a bit grassy, pretty bitter, rather oxidized, very underwhelming. Aftertaste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, bitter finish, more oxidation, almonds, sweet malts, bleh, very disappointing. This is a really bad IPA, this has nothing to do with current modern IPA brewing. It tastes like a bitter blond beer, and an oxidized one for that matter. It’s a disgrace that at their own venue the beer is spoiled, and yet they still serve it. Shame on you Baladin.
