(bottle, 33cl) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet caramel-malty and slightly nutty aroma with notes of marzipan and alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a light carbonation, hence the slightly sticky mouthfeel. Cara-malty, slightly bready taste with notes of liquorice; sweet and slightly bitter finish with hoppy notes and a present alcoholic burn. Not that bad, neither really good. 20.XII.10

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Mildly sweet malty aroma with shy citric and floral hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp and fresh carbonation. Initially pale malty taste with discreetly grainy spots and bitter hops towards the finish with subtle fruity notes. Of course not very complex but an easy-going quaffer. 20.XII.10

Bottle from Corti Bros. in Sacramento, CA. Pours pale gold with a foamy white head. Pale malt aroma. Maybe some herbal hop. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is bready with some mild noble hop. Finishes lightly pale malt sweet. Followed by some bitter. There are worse. I’d say pale lager rather than pilsener.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer topped by a small white head. Too bready aroma, grainy malts and some fruity hops too. The flavor is pretty much the same, some bitterness added to the bready maltyness. Medium to thin body. There’s some quenching qualities here, but it’s mostly boring, and not very well tasting either. 100115

330 ml bottle. Pale golden body with a collapsing white head. Aroma is weak grainy and fruity with a little harshness. Flavor is harsh sweet with hint of rotten fruit. Thin, watery body, almost no bitterness and the little flavor that present is not particular nice.

Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: Canned version. This brew pours a clear yellow-gold color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Light malt and citrus aroma. Light body with flavors of grainy malt, citrus and mild hops. The finish is sweet malt up front with a short hoppy aftertaste. Below average Pils overall.
