O)N TAP at the source. Well, it welcomes you with an almost lambic sourness and funk. Dark caramel and light coffee notes. But the dominating flavour is yeast and dirty towels.

ON TAP at the source. A bit sour, perfumey, roses and tangerines, Earl Grey tea. Green and young. Essentially, a drier version of the Roșie (Red). And cleaner too.

ON TAP at the brewpub. Halfway from a wit to weizen. Citrusy and perfumey notes from the former, not quite clove but harsher phenols and wheaty tartness from the latter. Yeasty, but still cleaner than their other beers. Drinkable.

Tap@Berestroika. Pours clear golden, no real head, no lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, green apple, hay, black pepper. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, peppery, belgian yeast, a bit of honey. Medium body, low carbonation. Not a bad effort, other than the carbonation. Unfortunately I forgot to ask for the ABV :(

Tap. Pours hazy reddish amber, small off-white head that dissipates fairly slowly leaving good lacing. Aroma is light caramel, pine, biscuit. Flavor is medium sweet, very light bitter, biscuit, grass. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Kind of a cross between a Vienna and an amber ale. Not bad.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy straw colour, creamy head. Phenolic banana aroma. Mid sweet with creamy, spritzy mouthfeel and light-medium body. Flavours of whipped cream, mashed banana and cloves. No bitternes. Thebeer selection at what seems to be Bucharest one and only proper brewpub is confusing. The Red Ale and Black Stout was temporarily unavailable, but promised to be back within a month. The Gold Beer which is listed as a pilsener in their website was in fact a hefeweizen at this occassion. At any rate it’s a pretty good weizen, decidedly enjoyable in the shady patio outside the brewpub.
