The Calabogie Brewing Co. opened in the town of Calabogie, Ontario in 2015, and has since added a second location an hour away in Kanata. Both locations feature a brewery, kitchen & taproom, and are a celebration of the beauty and spirit of Calabogie, and the spectacular land and people on which it was founded.

Enjoyed at Pub Italia. Pours a cloudy beige off-white head, with good creamy lacing. Orange aromas with other citrus peel. Quite bitter from the citrus peel again, with a lingering dryness. Quite an overall bitter IPA with more of the citrus side of things, over herbal. Very nice !!

Enjoyed at the Loon. Pours a slight hazy light-golden colour with a white head, decent stay and lacing. Nice grainy scent with some fruitiness and mild hops. Refreshing mouthfeel. A nice blend of the cereal malts and hops flavours with some bitterness. Quite refreshing Kolsch with more hop than usual for this style.

A golden saison with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light banana esters, cloves, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity banana malt with light cloves, fruity esters, oily mouth feel, nice and smooth. On tap at Craft beer market, Ottawa.

A brown stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, loads of sweet chocolate malt with light licorice, earthy character, grassy hops, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, powdery mouth feel, nice and smooth. On tap at the Cheshire Cat.

A reddish copper ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light vinous notes, light treacle, resinous and piney hops, light funky side, very nice. Enjoyed at Pub Italia on AleRider78’s b-day. Pours a clean copper colour with a small beige head and minimal lacing. Nutty taste with some light fruits, like apples. Roasted malt mild aromas with nut notes, chocolate, coffee, hops and fruits. Crisp mouthfeel that is on the wet side. Refreshing, easy-drinking nut brown ale.
