Description

Thank you Kraddel! 750 ml. bottle sampled. Huge GUSHER. Bloody ‘ell. Hazy orange with initially huge white bubble soapy head that very quickly collapses to almost nothing. This doesn’t look good. Nose is weird sweet soap which may be the bourbon turned ugly, getting esters, green, chemical, grains, overly fizzy. Taste is fizzy soap, unfitting potentially bourbon soap-sweetness, grain, industrial, yeasty, thin fizzy grainy, big esters. Body is likewise. Clear step down from the regular one, I feel that things went south here.

Bottle shared thanks to Kraddel at Beerlovers Bar, Antwerp. Gusher. Very hazy dark orange with a big white head. Aroma is herbal, floral, yeasty, oak, vanilla and light fruits. Flavour is above light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Purs clear blonde, good, very fluffy white head; Smell is very yeasty. Mostly sweet, but has a bitter aspect as well. taste is fresh, bit bitter, somewhat aromatic from the malts. very yeasty, but the yeastyness is nice in this one. A mild hoparoma to the back. Surprisingly OK for what it is !

3/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from the brewers @ my sister's place - BB: n/a, bottled: 31/X/15 (2016-813)

Clear blond beer, creamy solid white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, spicy, some marzipan, sugary, caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very very sugary and sweet, lots of maple syrup, bit spicy, lots of maple, probably a very good maple on it's own, given the complexity one can taste in the beer, but way too sweet for a beer and no balance at all!

27/VII/16 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: VI/2017 (2016-792) Thanks to JefVerstraete for the trade!

Cloudy muddy brown to purple beer, no head, just a few bubbles. Aroma: sweet, ripe banana, caramel, dried fruits. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty roasted, some coffee, caramel, dark chocolate, bit spicy, soft bitterness, Aftertaste: roasted, some banana, more dried fruits, yeasty, some chocolate, little leathery, weird finish, alcohol is pretty noticeable. Don't like it very much. Weird combinations, like a clash of flavours. Maybe when given some time to mellow out and blend a bit, it'll get better with age.

33cl bottle from Hopduvel, Ghent.A brilliant golden amber pour woith a really thick cream head; mellow sour fruity aroma;; rich and buttery in the mouth, with a butterscotch taste; and lots of warmth from the alcohol; and a dry alcohol finish. Smooth and satisfying.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orange color with some yeast residu floating in it, medium sized beige head. Aroma is full of horrible herbs or spices which remind me of (Dutch) "hopjesvla". Tastes the same. This is truly one of the worst beers I’ve ever tasted. Dear Lord this is dreadful (unless you’re a fan of herbal spiced beers). Instant drainpour.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Dark red colour, lots of creamy rocky pink foam. Nose is sweet (cherry candy, sweeteners, cherry lemonade). Taste starts sweet, bitter hoppy aftertaste. Not very well balanced. Lovers of sweet beer won’t like it --> too bitter. Lovers of bitter won’t like it --> too sweet.
