Straw colored with a huge meringue pie style head that slowly caves in to reveal scant lacing. Aroma of black pepper and anise. Flavor has lots of malts, but with bitterness from start to finish. Not very complex. Average body. An uninspired blonde ale.

Tap. Deep brown hue with an off-white head. Aroma of funk, red wine, sour, wood. Taste is sour, vinegar, cherry, light sweetness. Acid. Medium bubbles. Dry finish. 7/4/7/4/15:3.7

Bottle (marked as 02 on the back) re-rate: Pours with a clear deep bronze hue with red highlights. Off-white head at first, acid causes it to fade to a ring. Some lace left behind. Aromas are of funk, sour cherries, lacto, oak, light grassy notes, wet wood, mild acetobacter, a hint of earth/cocoa, red wine, very mild brett. Fruity esters, dark fruit, currants, no real malt character. Flavors show a good strong acidity, tons of esters, unripe plum, black cherry, currants. Strongish acetic acid, a mild sweetness backing it all up. Lingering acidity on the palate. Leaves the mouth salivating. Somewhat musty in the finish. Light vanillin, tannin, dry. Very lively carbonation, acidic and dry. Pretty solid, out of the bottle, hope it stays easy to find.
