500ml bottle from Asda. Poured a hazy dark brown colour with a fizzy, short-lived, off white head. The aroma is vanilla, light roasty malt, plummy. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a light, slightly watery, sweet fizzy vanilla, red berry fruit palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Too many bubbles for a porter and rather sweet.

Half-pint, cask at Anchor. Clear copper-brown body, covering pearl white head, scattered lacing. Mild caramel nose. Biscuit and dark caramel flavours, slightly roasted. Smooth ending, very discreet bitterness to it. Okay, rather anonymous though. (Lincoln 30.01.2020).

Bottle from Tesco, Aldershot. Although the label says IPA I guessed this would indeed be down as an ESB... Rich berry and marzipan aroma. Brown-gold. The refugees from a creamy white head form a narrow ring. The sweetness is what I first notice. Followed by lowkey bitterness, which gradually asserts itself. Some of the taste mirrors the aroma but less pleasantly there's also a watered down medicinal element t with some boiled veg. Light bodied. Thin if slick. Flat-average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. For something that smells nice and fruity the taste is a pretty flat letdown. Drinkable but that's it.

10/2/2020. Cask at the Farriers Arms, Worcester. Pours clear golden with a creamy white head. Aroma of citrus, malt, hops, flowers. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, very soft carbonation. Easy drinking, sessionable (NZ Pale Ale says the new style pump clip and it’s not an amber bitter but abv still 3.2%).
